I stumbled upon White Sands National Monument during a journey of self-exploration and recognized an opportunity. I was not disappointed. The link I feel to nature took an unexpected promotion as I experienced the unique landscapes of White Sands. While chemically not the same as beach sand, the white, granular material covering the landscapes gives the impression of a common beach. However, the incredibly absent presence of the other beach material, water, results in a very surreal experience. The flora and fauna of White Sands experience typical life cycles, and, due to the quickly changing environment, each step is distinctly visible. The remnants shown here speak of my inner exploration being reflected on this truly amazing fragment of Earth.
